Report: Work Redefined: A New Age of Benefits

Metlife’s latest U.S. Employee Benefit Trends Study reveals that the gig economy is reshaping the future of work. More than half of employees were found to be interested in contract or freelance work for more flexible hours, the ability to work from home and project variety, as opposed to a full-time job.

The report also shows that, for employers, their top priority was retaining staff, with 83% saying this is an important benefits objective. This came ahead of increasing productivity and controlling health and welfare benefit costs.
