Report: UK Employee Benefits Watch 2016/17

The theme of Thomsons’ report was transformation, highlighting significant challenges around engagement and cost control. It found that reward professionals need to alter their approach to benefit offerings by making them more consumer-led, with wellness, digitisation and personalisation at its heart.

The report is presented in three main sections:

  • Rethinking mental and physical wellness – moving beyond traditional benefits that focus on curing ill-health, to promoting a culture of prevention.
  • The future of financial wellness – the continuing trend of supporting employees with all aspects of their finances.
  • Communicating benefits to drive value – introducing marketing skills to develop a dialogue with their audience to drive action and value.

Thomsons surveyed more than 200 HR and reward professionals and 500 employees to compile its report.
