Survey: Workplace Wellbeing Index 2017

Wellbeing has moved up the agenda of many organisations over the past 12 months, according to Barnett Waddingham's third annual Wellbeing Index. Those companies that had previously indicated that they were not interested or had barely considered a wellbeing strategy, are now looking into this or have a firm strategy in place.

Wellbeing Index 1

Key findings:

  • 71% of respondents believe that workplace wellbeing is very important.
  • 45% of employers describe levels of wellbeing as moderate.
  • More than half of employers have a wellbeing strategy in place.
  • 3% of employers have no intention of building a strategy.

The survey received 145 usable responses from employers across all regions of the UK, providing benefits to more than 250,000 employees. Around 86% of respondents operate in the private sector, while 14% are in the public sector.
