New Model Reward Research: Gender pay reporting to put up base pay

The forthcoming legal requirement for gender pay gap reporting is putting additional pressure on businesses to raise base pay, according to new research from REBA, in association with JLT Employee Benefits.

In a new report, New Model Reward research 2017, it was found that one in five (21.3%) of respondents said they were feeling the pressure. The changes come into force in April 2018 when companies with more than 250 employees will then be required to publish their gender pay gap and bonus pay details.

“The new gender pay reporting responsibilities will aim to make pay and reward fairer in spite of sex so it’s important to see that employers are already responding to the differences between their male and female employees when it comes to pay and reward,” said Debi O’Donovan, director at REBA.
