Benefits Shifts 2016: Increasing employee engagement with pay and benefits is 2016 top priority

Increasing employee engagement with pay and benefits is the number one strategy that reward and employee benefits professionals will focus on in 2016, according to research from the Reward & Employee Benefits Association (REBA).

More than a third (35.6%) listed it in their top three reward and benefits priorities for the year as they strive to improve reward uptake within their organisations.

Debi O’Donovan, partner at REBA, said it was a challenge many organisations need to tackle. “Ensuring engagement with pay and benefits is something many have failed to do. For some it’s the challenge of outside influences, for others simply poor internal communications. But it’s a challenge that must be overcome. By ensuring they place it top of their agendas in 2016 reward and benefits professionals have a better chance of succeeding.”

The conclusion is part of a survey of nearly 300 pay, reward and benefits specialists working across a variety of organisations, sizes and sectors that was carried out between August and September of 2015.

The initial report, REBA/JLT Employee Benefits Shifts Research 2016, is the first in a series of research reports that will be published by REBA looking into key issues facing reward and employee benefits professional.
