Marcus Underhill: a life lost too soon

It was with shock and deep sadness that I and the REBA team heard of Marcus Underhill’s sudden passing last week.

I'm sure many people reading this would agree that Marcus was well-liked and highly regarded within our reward and employee benefits industry. He was known for not only thought leadership, but putting forward-thinking strategies into place for clients.

Looking at the comments online as this sad news spreads, it is clear he mentored many people and made a lasting impression on all of them.

To me he always contributed to the advancement of ideas in our industry. I first met him in early 1999 when we both took part in a round table on flexible benefits, while our last meeting was in April at the REBA Reward Leaders Forum when he spoke on his reward experiences in Singapore, passing on advice to our UK audience.

As an industry, as clients, colleagues and friends, we’ll all miss him greatly.

We extend our condolences to his family and all close to him.
