Three ways to make every day #MotivationMonday

Motivation is the driving force behind everything we do. However, sometimes, being motivated is easier said than done.

If your employees aren’t motivated, they’re likely to feel disengaged and dissatisfied with their role. Luckily, there’s plenty of things you can do as an employer to kickstart your employees’ motivation. Being motivated shouldn’t just be reserved for a trending hashtag – it should be one of the leading parts of your HR strategy.

1. Work on your employee benefits package

A fantastic employee benefits package is just one of the things a potential employee will look for in a job.

What’s more, implementing schemes such as Employee Assistance Programmes and Hospital Treatment Insurance will let your staff know that their wellbeing is a priority. Employees will feel valued and supported, helping them to feel more satisfied in their role and in turn boost their motivation to progress and develop.

2. Reward your employees

According to Robert Half UK’s The Secrets of Happy Companies and Employees (2017) research, 25 per cent of employees aged between 35 and 54 feel underappreciated at work. With this in mind, it’s a good idea to let your staff know that they are appreciated by rewarding them with workplace social events, discounts and more.

A simple trip to a restaurant or a cinema outing is a great place to start. Discount schemes are often easy to set up, giving your employees that all important ‘thank you’ and letting them know that their hard work has not gone unnoticed.

3. Support development

A great way to boost employee motivation is to encourage personal and professional development.  This lets employees know that there is something to work for, something to achieve and that their careers are on track.

If an employee feels like they’re not going anywhere within their role, they may look for another position, so it’s a good idea to implement training programmes and regular reviews to help combat this.

Motivating everyday

Through implementing employee benefits, rewarding your employees and supporting their development, you can help your staff to flourish within the workplace. This can help to improve their enthusiasm and motivation, and in turn, you can reap the rewards of a happier, more productive workforce, without the need for #MotivationMonday.
