Video tutorial: Daniela Masters of Generali on the role of data-driven decision making in wellbeing

Decision-making in wellbeing has to be driven by data if it is to be most effective, according to Daniela Masters, head of health and wellness programmes at Generali.

Speaking at the REBA Employee Wellbeing Congress 2019, she said that although there were numerous reports and data available such as EAP reports, medical claim reports or employee engagement surveys companies often didn’t know how to access, read or use them effectively. She said data could also be gathered from other departments and initiatives within the business too – such as risk managers.

“Risk managers can help you to analyse the data – especially when it comes to health insurance which should be micro-managed,” she said.

“We also have to think about the bigger picture on why it’s important to make data-driven decisions when it comes to health and wellbeing,” she said. These include global medical cost trends as well as other global differences, illustrated by a case study that Masters presented to delegates at the event.
