Video tutorial: How to bring your people along on the digital transformation journey

Organisations can get carried away with chasing ‘shiny tech’ rather than looking at the people side of technology when implementing a digital transformation, according to Neil Perkin, author of Building the Agile Business.

Speaking in a keynote address at the REBA Innovation Day Perkin said that organisations needed to look at how they navigated the digital transformation journey and consider company context when going through such changes. “It’s about how we work with our people to bring them on the journey with us,” he said.

But he said change had to be implemented throughout the business. “Unless you really change the fabric of how you operate as a business you cannot benefit from the real potential of new technologies,” he said.

He talked about the combination of customer experience and employee experience and how organisations needs to embrace both. “CX plus EX equals digital transformation,” he said.
