Jeremiah said the first of her learnings was regarding brain versus mind. She said teaching staff about their brain was enough to give them the self-awareness that perhaps made them less sceptical about the concept of mindfulness. "Because the majority of our employees are engineers by their analytical nature teaching them about their brain helps them to understand and is a really nice way to approach mindfulness, not just as the fluffy part of wellbeing but this is going to help you regarding peak performance," she said.

Her second learning was around digital versus in-person training. She said the company had gone 100% digital through apps, webinars etc. "This really works with a modern workforce who just don't have time to sit in a classroom," she said.

Thirdly she encouraged organisations to adopt a bottom up versus top down approach since such at GE that approach had worked best with an almost viral adoption within the business. "There is something about your employees telling your other employees to look at this versus HR telling them," she said

This video tutorial was recorded at the REBA Employee Wellbeing Congress 2017 which took place on 22 June 2017.
