Report: CEO pay landscape in the Eurotop 100
Key findings:
- 1,402 million Euro was the median base salary level for CEOs in 2016. Compared with the previous year, the median did not significantly increase.
- 67% of companies have shareholding policies. The median guideline level remains 300% of base salary for the CEO.
- 126% of base salary was the median actual bonus received. However, half of the companies analysed require their executive to defer their bonus - typically 50% of bonus paid.
- Total shareholder return (TSR) is the most common performance metric attached to long-term incentive plans.
