Report: The Big Return

BHSF surveyed 2,000 of the UK’s working population who have worked from home during the pandemic to understand the impact of Covid-19 on employees.

Report: The Big Return 1

The insight is designed to act as a catalyst for the development of clear strategies and tactics to support employees, not only over the coming months, but also in the coming years, as we come out of a life-changing pandemic and begin to return to normal.

Key findings

  • 5% of employees say their employer has not provided any health and wellbeing support during the pandemic.
  • Of those who have received support; 50% have access to mental health first aiders and 62% have access to 24/7 anonymous professional support, e.g. GP helpline or counselling service.
  • 45% of employees described their feelings about the return to work negatively.
  • Only 5% of employers have put in place extra employee support services for those returning to a more normal work pattern.
  • 70% of employees agree that the seriousness with which their employer treats employee health and wellbeing is more important now compared with a year ago.

The Big Return offers guidance and advice from qualified industry experts on how to overcome the challenges and possible next steps for businesses. With special commentary from Dr Rohit S. Prajapati, chief medical officer at BHSF, and Tracey Paxton, managing director at The Employee Resilience Company Limited, it also offers advice on how to build a resilient workforce and better support all staff.
