White paper: Engage or die

This paper from Achievers, part of Blackhawk Network, considers what defines engagement and how it looks from different employee perspectives.

White paper: Engage or die 1

Key findings

  • According to Gallup, companies with engaged employees have: 22 per cent more profitability, 21 per cent higher productivity and 25–65 per cent less turnover than companies without engaged employees.
  • Engagement refers to the employees’ perspective, but culture refers to the organisation’s behaviour.
  • Jacob Morgan, author of The Employee Experience Advantage, says employee experience takes a holistic view that puts the employee at the centre, and involves the culture, the technology and the physical workspace.
  • 55 per cent of employees overall and 74 per cent in North America plan to switch jobs in 2018. What would motivate these employees to stay? 74 per cent said interesting work and 69 per cent said recognition and reward.

The ebook outlines how to create an agile approach to engagement.
