Survey: HR in Law and Aon Employee Benefits Survey 2019 1

For while the law sector is largely a mature one when it comes to its benefits provision (for instance 81% offer salary sacrifice for pensions), there were some surprising results:

  • Only 15.7% of firms use their NI savings to fund other benefits (a reduction since 2017)
  • Pension contributions offered on a matched basis has fallen once again – it is offered to just 47% of professional staff (a new low)
  • Some 65% of firms don’t have a pensions engagement strategy targeting specific members

However, the findings also show there has been a rise in the percentage of firms that offer financial education – up by more than five percentage points to 23.4% since 2017.
