Video tutorial: Lawrence Sutton of Thomsons Online Benefits on the big HR tech disconnect

Lawrence Sutton, Director Enterprise Consulting at Thomsons Online Benefits believes HR is starting to see the advantages tech can bring, but there are still barriers to overcome to take HR tech to the next level. In this ever-changing digital world, the HR function must evolve and adapt.

Organisations are increasingly expecting huge changes to be made, headed by their HR teams, to help deliver the necessary skills and competencies that will allow companies to face the digital age.

Despite the increased pressure, it does afford HR an opportunity for increasing influence within organisations.

"This pressure brings an opportunity in the HR world, where we have been trying to get a seat at the table at that executive level, to try and influence, steer and lead those discussions. We can actually be more influential in the way organisations develop for the digital age," said Lawrence Sutton.
