Research: Aon Employee Benefits Benefit and Trends Survey 2016

Now in its seventh year, this research from Aon Employee Benefits covers four areas; online and flexible benefits, health and wellbeing, benefits communications and pensions.

Key findings:

  • The three most popular voluntary benefits offered on a flex scheme were childcare vouchers, cycle to work and pensions.
  • Around 58% of companies do not have a specific health and wellbeing budget, while 28% do not use analytics to drive their strategies in this area.
  • Nearly one-third of businesses did not have a benefits communication strategy and had no plans to implement one.
  • Although nearly all respondents said they had some level of pensions governance in place, one-third had not reviewed the performance of their default option or the funds in it for more than a year.

The survey of more than 200 HR and benefits professionals assesses the issues that companies are facing and what they are planning for the year ahead.
