Neil Hugh Head of UK Proposition at Standard Life on supporting employees with retirement planning

Neil Hugh, head of UK proposition at Standard Life, spoke at REBA's Employee Wellbeing Congress about the shift in employees' attitudes to retirement planning and workplace savings.

The impact of Covid-19 has seen a shift in the way employees are looking at their retirement plans and long-term savings. Hugh explains that this is especially true of those reaching age 55 this year, who may be considering putting off retiring and working for longer, or those who want to now leave work earlier due to the pandemic.

He advised that employers need to support employees nearing retirement by engaging them in different ways from digital to face-to-face, and also offering a good provided/employer partnership to help employees make good choices.
