Nest insight: Easier to save

Since 2018, Nest Insight has been exploring the impact that payroll-linked saving schemes can have on financial wellbeing and resilience, including a research trial where a hybrid instant-access and retirement saving account solution was piloted at 5 employers.

This is the final report summarising the results of the opt-out payroll saving research trials in the workplace emergency saving research programme. It has found that an opto-out approach to payroll saving dramatically boosts participation, and saving via patrol supports people to save persistently over time.
