Research: UK labour market: June 2018
Key findings:
- The employment rate was 75.6 per cent, higher than for a year earlier (74.8 per cent) and the joint highest since comparable records began in 1971.
- Latest estimates show that average weekly earnings – not adjusted for price inflation – increased by 2.8 per cent excluding bonuses, and by 2.5 per cent including bonuses, compared with a year earlier.
- Average weekly earnings – adjusted for price inflation – increased by 0.4 per cent excluding bonuses, and by 0.1 per cent including bonuses, compared with a year earlier.
