Everywhen report: Employer perspectives on workforce health and benefits (part 1)

Research from Everywhen reveals a support mismatch in plain sight, leaving standard workplace strategies short of what employees actually need.

Surveying 500 UK HR decision-makers, part 1 of the Employer perspectives on workforce health and benefits report, The challenge of supporting different workforce needs, uncovers a disconnect running through UK workplaces. While employee pressures vary significantly by age, gender, and seniority, many organisations continue to rely on uniform benefits packages.

A rigid approach remains common, with two in five (40%) of employers offering the same support regardless of gender. Almost a third (30%) offer the same regardless of age, lifestyle, or health risks, and a quarter (25%) regardless of seniority.

Yet concerns tell a different story, as almost six out of ten (58%) of employers worry about the physical health of Baby Boomers and over half (52%) about Gen X, compared to just over a third (37%) for Gen Z.

Despite these clear differences, only a fifth (22%) of employers tailor benefits by age or risk factors, and just over one in ten (11%) offer a flexible cash allowance for personalised choice. With workforce health directly impacting productivity and talent retention, relying on a standard model poses a growing risk to overall employee well-being.
