Everywhen report: Employer perspectives on workforce health and benefits (part 3)

The third part of Everywhen’s Employer perspectives on workforce health and benefits report series looks at how employers are using workforce insights and data to make more informed benefits decisions.

Surveying 500 UK HR decision-makers, the Using insights to strengthen benefits strategy report, the third instalment of Everywhen’s Employer perspectives on workforce health and benefits report series, uncovers a disconnect running through UK workplaces. While most employers track benefit usage, a notable proportion still operate in the dark, missing critical insights needed to evaluate ROI and employee value.

The report shows that four out of five (81%) employers track benefit engagement in some way. Most (61%) do this through regular management reports. When data is collected, its use varies as just over half (51%) use it to assess benefit effectiveness, just under half (48%) to anticipate future needs, and 48% to understand how staff value their benefits.

Without reliable insight, employers risk investing in benefits that miss the mark, a gap that matters far more than an HR metric, as it directly impacts value for money, employee engagement, and long-term retention.

Using insights to strengthen benefits strategy sets out where standard monitoring falls short, how data can predict future needs, and what UK businesses can do to build smarter, data-driven benefit offerings.
