Watch REBA’s latest webinar into how employers are utilising the government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, and how this is impacting their wider approach to pay, reward and furlough decisions.
Figures from REBA's snapshot survey into employers’ coronavirus response reveal that two thirds (64%) of employers will use the furlough scheme, of which just 4% will use it for all staff and 96% will use it for selected roles.
To help ascertain how the scheme will work and provide insight into what different businesses are doing, we bought together a panel of experts to take part in our webinar. The participants were:

- Tina Samson, Head of Rewards, UK & Ireland, Molson Coors
- Emma Pearson, Reward Manager, Poundland and Dealz
- Sarah Lardner, Director of Business Innovation and Principal consultant, Innecto
- Caroline Harwood, Partner – Share Plans & Employment Tax, Crowe UK
Each panellist spoke about what they had been dealing with in their own organisations, as well as what they have been seeing more generally from other reward directors and the wider sector. They also answered a range of questions from our live audience.
The questions covered included annual leave issues, company cars, how to furlough those on maternity leave, as well as how to keep your furloughed workforce engaged.
Although the panel did not always have the answer, we feel that it is vital the reward and employee benefits community comes to together to share ideas and experiences, and to understand that each of us is not alone in dealing with these complex issues in difficult circumstances.
