Ways executive incentives are changing to meet ESG targets: how institutional investor pressure is shifting senior reward

In this webinar, you will hear from forward-thinking employers about the decisions and actions they are taking to reflect environmental, social and governance (ESG) targets within their executive reward strategies.

ESG targets are increasingly being applied by institutional investors to listed companies, meaning executive reward teams and remuneration committees need to rethink targets for financial and non-financial incentives.

Our panellists will take stock of how investor focus and regulations are moving the dial on targets linked to ESG. The panel will share what they foresee investors and advisors asking for in the future, which will need to be part of discussions and decisions now.

The webinar will include Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation and shareholder activism, through to the public scrutiny of corporate profits and the increased need to meet diversity targets. With COP26 taking place in November, we will look closely at environmental targets and what these mean for reward and remuneration strategies at the highest level.

Key issues to be explored:

  • Why is pressure growing to publicly report targets beyond companies own internal targets?
  • Who is under pressure: Board, senior management and supply chains?
  • Where are the shifts in targets: short-term versus long term incentives; financial versus non-financial incentives?
  • What is ESG window-dressing by companies and what is real? Why are institutional investors examining this so closely?
  • What will be the impact of Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) and other legislation?
  • What targets are most under pressure: from environment and diversity to governance and community?
