Report: The DNA of Financial Wellbeing

Neyber has launched its third annual report into financial wellbeing. This year the research has been split into a series of four booklets. This first instalment looks at attitudes, mindsets and behaviours towards money.

Report: The DNA of Financial Wellbeing 1

Key findings:

  • Only two thirds of employees feel happy with their financial health and only 61 per cent are happy with their later life/retirement provision.
  • When asked whether they felt their employer cared about certain aspects of their wellbeing, career and personal development (73 per cent), later life/retirement provision (66 per cent) and overall wellbeing (65 per cent) all scored highly. However, only 50 per cent felt their employer cared about their financial health.
  • There is a disconnect between what employers think employees’ top concerns are (work/life balance) and the reality (financial worries).
  • 60 per cent of employees said they felt that their behaviour changes when they are under financial pressure. Employers also notice the change, with 69 per cent saying that they believe employees’ job performance is negatively affected when they are under pressure.

Neyber surveyed 10,000 employees and 580 employers to understand more about how employees’ financial wellbeing relates to their work life.
