Bright Horizons report: Modern Families Index 2026: Weathering the storm

The latest index draws on insights from 3,000 working parents and carers across the UK.

It finds employers face a hidden retention and productivity crisis, and working parents and carers are caught in economic strain, rising care demands, and workplace cultures that struggle to keep up with the pace of family realities.

These pressures coincide with the growing care needs of ageing relatives.
