Data and AI are redefining global workforce resilience
Organisations are under pressure to offer consistent, prevention‑first support, yet different systems, cultures, levels of digital maturity and employee expectations all shape how health support is experienced in practice.
REBA’s latest report, Designing global health strategies that improve workforce resilience, produced with Marsh, highlights that AI’s fundamental value lies in how employers use these tools to make sense of rising costs, uneven access to care and the increasingly complex health needs of their people.
Employers are leveraging automation to reduce manual tasks and predictive analytics to uncover hidden patterns in claims, absence, and engagement. However, regional healthcare landscapes vary widely, so uniform global models may fail.
Employers are trying to build coherent multinational health support while navigating fragmented data, legacy processes and regional variation that makes global consistency difficult to achieve.
AI doesn’t replace judgement
According to the report, a single global model doesn’t work. Instead, organisations need a clear set of principles, grounded in organisational purpose, that allow each region to adapt support to its cultural and system realities.
As Dr Luke James, partner and workforce health leader, Europe Marsh Health and Benefits, suggests, AI isn’t here to replace the judgement that employers rely on every day. Its role is to quietly support the way organisations manage people risk, shape health benefits and strengthen resilience.
By automating routine admin and enhancing task accuracy, AI is helping reward leaders to focus on high-value strategy. These efficiency gains are more than just time-savers; they are the catalyst for a more proactive, prevention-focused approach to global workforce health.
Looking towards the future, as AI evolves, it seems certain it will enable organisations to bridge the gap between fragmented legacy systems and a more consistent, prevention-first approach to global workforce health.
