Case study: Medivet to make staff happy with voluntary benefits

Marketing and content co-ordinator Cara Zaleski says: “We are like a family, always keen to offer help and support to colleagues based at other practices elsewhere in the network. The feedback we get is that people are happy in their jobs.”
However Medivet is preparing to take its employee happiness to a new level by developing a voluntary benefits scheme, Medivet Benefits.
Zaleskis says: “We already have a points-based reward and recognition scheme in place, ‘Medivets Say Thank You’, through which members of staff can be nominated as Colleague of the Month in one of seven job categories, including vets, vet nurse, and so on. However, we wanted to provide something extra."
Medivet Benefits, which is due to be launched at the end of April using Personal Group's voluntary benefits platform, will offer discount codes on a range of retail brands, including some of the leading supermarket chains, and also on entertainment, such as cinema tickets and family days out.
Employees will have their own account and will be able to access the benefits at work or from home.
“Staff really appreciate extras like these that make their money go further, especially our student vet nurses and other trainees,” says Cara. “We are all very excited about the launch and we are looking forward to seeing the new scheme have an even greater impact on employee engagement, happiness and productivity.”
