Policy note: 'What works to reduce your gender pay gap'
Three key areas are identified as having the greatest impact: supporting talent through flexible working; supporting equal sharing of childcare through parental leave; and supporting parents with child care.
To do this, its recommendations include:
- Offering choice to workers by giving both paternity and shared paternity leave
- Getting more familiar with childcare options (tax-free childcare; universal credit and tax credits)
- Recognising employees have the right to request flexible working
