Report: Deloitte Human Capital Trends Report

Deloitte’s annual ‘Global Human Capital Trends’ for 2019 is now available to read, and reveals some damning trends about the extent to which leaders are prioritising experience, incentives, and learning.

Deloitte Global Human Capital Trends report 1

The report, compiled from research amongst nearly 10,000 respondents in 119 countries, presents several key conclusions, but chief amongst them is its assertion of the clear link between productivity and employee experience - which not all leaders are acting on.

It finds 84% of UK workers believe employee engagement and productivity are inextricably connected but 68% report their organisations does not measure the correlation.

It also finds:

  • Only 18% of UK respondents believe that their company’s leadership programmes are effective at developing leaders to meet evolving business and economic challenges
  • Nearly all (87%) agree learning is important, or very important, in driving employee engagement, but only 15% describe their company’s learning culture as inadequate
  • More than two-thirds (69%) of the UK workforce say they have no incentive to learn new skills
