Bright Horizons Research: Modern Families Index 2025

This report explores the evolving landscape of working parents and carers at a pivotal moment in time, as new policies and workforce expectations contribute to shifting dynamics.

Of the 3,000 working parents and carers surveyed by Bright Horizons, nearly a third are feeling very stressed, and there is a drop in perception that their employer cares about – or will provide support for – their family responsibilities.

This research explores the issues and challenges that face working parents today, with suggestions and solutions that will help employers engage, retain and plan for an ever-changing future.

Key highlights from this year’s report include:

  • Perception of being supported by employers is falling, from 77% (2023) to 72% (2024) to 68% in 2025.
