“Know your employees. Know who’s around you and get a sense of the organisation you are working in – the demographics, the age ranges. It’s a sense test of what’s going to work,” says Jonathan Sparham, head of HR operations at Novae Group.
“The biggest piece of advice is to focus on the individuals themselves and don’t try to put in a one size fits all approach,” says Sheila Champion-Smeeth, EMEA total reward consultant at Cisco.
“Really listen. Really ask employees what do they need and make sure you have the right offering to support those needs, “ says Toria McCahill, associate HR director – group functions and reward at BGL Group.
