Video tutorial: Deborah Frost of Personal Group on understanding the wellbeing tipping point

Understanding the pressure that employees can be under from the noise going on in their lives – such as financial or relationship worries - can be a huge challenge to deal with in terms of wellbeing, according to Deborah Frost, CEO of Personal Group.

Speaking at the REBA Employee Wellbeing Congress 2019, she said: “Today the tipping point in wellness has been reached. It’s actually more costly for employers to do nothing than it is for them to start to integrate some strategies to allow your employees to start to be able to tune down that pneumatic drill that’s going on at home.”

Offering an integrated strategy was key, she said. Frost also examined the different challenges that men and women face, particularly when dealing with mental health and financial wellness. “The problem that men have is that they find it really difficult to access help. It might be about stigma or it might be about how do I get these services,” she said.

The issue of women and their finances was even higher, in part because of the gender pension gap, she said.

This video was recorded at the REBA Employee Wellbeing Congress 2019, held in London on 20 June.
