6 superheroes every business needs

What makes up a good team? Is it a mix of personalities, people who are similar or a strong character to navigate the team to success? The answer is probably that different characteristics are useful in different situations, cue this light-hearted post that takes a look at the employee superheroes every company needs. Do you recognise anyone?

1) The team leader: Iron Man

As a successful businessman and CEO of Stark industries Tony Stark AKA Iron Man certainly knows a lot about running a team. He even manages to keep the Hulk under control (sometimes).

As leader of the Avengers, Stark has helped establish a tricky start-up, managed disputes between co-workers and made the most of all team members abilities by assigning them tasks suited to their own unique strengths.

2) The morale booster: Captain America

It’s all too easy for workplace morale to take a dive, whether it’s due to slow business, no pay rises for another year or having to put in extra work due to a particularly busy period. But when morale slumps, your business is likely to see a knock-on effect in terms of employee engagement and productivity, which is why you need a Captain America-style morale booster.

When Steve Rogers first joined the Avengers he quickly became an inspirational cornerstone and helped propel the team to A-1 security status.  An employee who’s willing to look on the bright side rather than moaning and groaning about the company can be invaluable.

3) The young star: Spider-Man

As a student when he gets his powers, Peter Parker, AKA Spider-Man, has a lot to learn and he figures most of it out on the job.

Taking on apprentices and investing in their training and development can help futureproof your business and ensure your succession planning is as safe as the streets of New York when Spidey’s on the scene.

4) The efficiency expert: The Flash

We all wish we had the Flash’s superhuman speed at times. Just think how quickly you’d get through that pile of admin sitting on your desk.

In business, so much time is wasted on unnecessary processes, or multiple people doing the same task. Having a member of staff who is able to take a step back from things and recognise where time is being wasted and where efficiencies can be made can be invaluable.

5) The tech expert: Batman

Unlike most superheroes, Batman doesn’t have any powers. But what he does have is an amazing array of tech at his disposal which helps him get the job done. Who needs to be able to fly when you’ve got the Batwing?

You may not be fighting crime in Gotham but having a tech expert on your team means you’ll be able to ensure everyone has the tools they need to get the job done in the most efficient manner, to the best possible standard.

6) The client handler: Professor X

His telekinetic powers mean Professor X is always one step ahead of everyone else.  He not only knows what people are thinking and feeling, he can project thoughts into other’s minds, which could come in use when dealing with tricky customers,

While your chances of hiring a real-life telepath may be slim, you need someone on your team who’s good with people, who can use their communication skills to get to the bottom of what clients need and help develop and maintain strong relationships.

Ensure you have these six types as part of your team and you will - hopefully - be unbeatable.
