The report by Towergate Employee Benefits, based on a survey of 500 UK HR decision-makers, explores how employers communicate health and wellbeing support in the workplace.

- Widespread Monitoring: 81% of employers report having a strong understanding of absence, indicating established tracking systems.
- Wellbeing Concerns: Mental health (51%) and physical health (49%) are the top concerns for employers for their employees.
- Proactive Strategies: 59% of employers use wellbeing initiatives to prevent absence, showing a shift toward data-informed, preventive care models.
- Business Impact: when asked about the issues currently causing problems in their business employers citied quiet quitting (26%), turnover (23%), and presenteeism (17%). Half of employers acknowledge that their focus is currently pulled towards other areas within the business – not the health and wellbeing of their workforce.
- Future Outlook: Employers foresee mounting difficulties in recruiting (47%), retaining (44%), and engaging (37%) employees in the next 12 months, reinforcing the importance of integrated absence and wellbeing strategies.
