Sian Anthony of Rathbones on how changing behaviours have influenced workplace wellbeing

Sian Anthony, head of reward at financial services organisation Rathbones, outlines how she has seen employees' behaviours and expectations of wellbeing change over recent years, and how that has impacted on company culture.

Anthony explains that over the past couple of years there has been a really big shift in people's attitudes around wellbeing and, in particular, around mental health. This has also been helped by technology developments, where they are now able to offer a single tool that provides access to a range of wellbeing support.

This change in behaviour towards wellbeing has, in turn, contributed to a change in company culture.

"What helped to push the wellbeing agenda and the initiatives and maybe some more radical things through was to highlight some of the metrics that we have, so tapping into our EAP, medical screening...to get the exec looking at hard facts and what we can then do from it from a wellbeing perspective," she explains.

Anthony attended REBA’s exclusive Next Generation Wellbeing webinar in association with Mercer Marsh Benefits. It brought together employers and industry experts to discuss new approaches to employee wellbeing.
