Video: Chris Laughlin global reward director at Abcam on implementing a global employee share scheme


Back in 2018, life sciences company Abcam, launched its global employee share scheme. Earlier this year we spoke with Chris Laughlin global reward director about the reasons for introducing the benefit, how the implementation went and the initial response they’ve had to the scheme.

Since filming, there has been a lot of change with the outbreak of coronavirus. We caught up with Laughlin to understand what impact the virus was having on their employee share scheme and the wider business.

He highlights that by its very nature, AbShare is a long-term share scheme that is underpinned by broad performance conditions and requires a long-term perspective. 

“We continue to serve our customers, support one another and invest in our business for the future. AbShare therefore continues to operate on the basis on which it was launched in late 2018 and is a share scheme built on the collective potential of all of Abcam to come together, achieve great things and meaningfully share in our success.
