Video tutorial: How to digitise your EVP for greatest success

Digitising your EVP can bring huge benefits to free up people to concentrate on other areas of the business but relies on embracing the power of technology in the right way, according to Andrew Drake, proposition director at JLT Employee Benefits.

Speaking at the REBA Reward Leaders’ Forum 2018 Drake defined the key elements that he believed an EVP should include but also identified key areas he said organisations were letting employees down on, especially when it comes to dealing with the needs of different generations.

He said a one size fits all option doesn’t work. “Think about the people that are in your workforce and the circumstances of those individuals,” he said. “Then identify their needs and the problems they are trying to solve in their lives and design the ecosystem around it,” he said.

In his top tips he said that companies had to get top level buy-in and then needed to commit and stand by the process of digitisation. “There will be difficult times along the way and you won’t get it right first-time but you need to learn fast and fail fast,” he said. “It’s a journey not a project. You need to understand this is a continuous journey,” he said.

Finally he said digital doesn’t mean no humans. “It means you can deploy those humans in a far better way,” he said. “You still need the people."
