Report: 2021 Global Wellbeing Survey

Identifying the direct link between employee wellbeing and business performance, Aon’s 2021 Global Wellbeing Survey asked 1,648 companies across 41 countries how they are addressing the impact wellbeing programmes have on their business performance.

Report: 2021 Global Wellbeing Survey 1

It found that the majority (82%) of organisations globally believe that wellbeing is important, and a key focus, within their company. Additionally, while 87% have wellbeing initiatives in place, just over half (55%) don’t have a strategy.

Key findings

• Two fifths (42%) of employers said employee engagement/ interest was a challenge when expanding or starting wellbeing initiatives

• Over half (52%) say wellbeing is not being prioritised because of other focuses

• Half of employees (50%) would prefer to continue working remotely as much as possible

Aon’s data also suggests that it is “essential” that employers integrate wellbeing into their employees’ journey, however only two thirds (32%) said they will prioritise this over the next three years. This is despite one in three adults (35%) admitting to experiencing a lot of stress and more than 40% of workers have said they face high stress levels in their job.
