Whitepaper: Diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace

A new whitepaper by Aon has revealed that over half (52%) of UK organisations are planning to, or are already, reviewing their compensation and benefits programmes to strengthen DE&I initiatives.

The research highlights the needs of different individuals when planning benefits and initiatives, such as Shariah law considerations those following the Islamic faith wishing to have a pension, the disparity between men and women’s financial health and the exclusion of certain health benefits for those with disabilities.

Key findings:

  • Globally, women lost more than 64M jobs last year — a 5% loss, compared to 3.9% loss for men
  • as organisations are planning for the future of work, 3 out of 4 have ‘driving DE&I in the workplace’ on top of their mind
  • 83% of organisations surveyed in EMEA have created or are planning to create DE&I metrics or goals.

Additionally, Aon has advised that more organisations need to consider DE&I when planning benefits and initiatives, considering the value the benefits package brings and whether it meets the needs of all of employees.
