Aon research: Global Risk Management Survey

Now in its 17th year, Aon’s biennial research gathers insights from almost 3,000 risk management, C-suite leaders and other executives from 61 countries, identifying their most pressing business challenges

The Global Risk Management Survey survey finds that human capital issues are not simply a ‘people problem’ but a key business risk fuelled by rising healthcare costs, the competition for talent, workforce shortages and a lack of retirement preparedness.

In 2023, ‘attracting and retaining top talent’ is ranked the fourth business risk globally. In 2021 it wasn’t even in the top ten risks, demonstrating a shift in how risk managers are viewing human capital today. Despite the rising significant, only 11% of respondents have quantified their people risks. There is a significant gap between risk awareness and preparedness.
