Aon report reveals link between engagement and DEI

Aon has surveyed more than 1,200 rewards, benefits and DE&I leaders

Aon’s latest report reveals link between engagement and DE&I.jpg 1

Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace has evolved in the recent years, as many organisations embed their DEI efforts into organisation-wide policies, from benefits and compensation to manager training and talent development.

As these policies mature, more data-driven approaches are being used to determine how effective efforts are and where improvements are needed.

An inclusive benefits scheme can provide the support for a diverse employee population, improving the employee experience and enabling employers to meet the new employee expectations, whether current or future workforces.

To better understand the current status of organisations’ DEI practices in approaching benefits, work environment and culture across different regions and industries, Aon has surveyed more than 1,200 rewards, benefits and DEI leaders.

Key findings of the survey include:

  • A positive correlation between employee engagement and DEI policies
  • 84% of companies have employees responsible for leading DEI initiatives
  • 68% of companies with a high level of engagement have a broadly defined DEI plan
