Video tutorial: How to create a benefits ecosystem to allow your people to thrive and attract talent

Creating the ultimate benefits ecosystem will allow your people to thrive and ensure you can attract the best talent, according to David Dodd, consulting director at Thomsons Online Benefits.

Communicating, engaging and creating a connection with your employees is one of the biggest challenges faced and so needs to be high up on the agenda in order to achieve that goal, said Dodd.

Addressing delegates at the REBA Reward Leaders’ Forum 2018 Dodd talked about the importance of data but said he believed no one had truly cracked the data conundrum.

“Too many employers are still taking a traditional approach to benefits,” he said. Instead he said employers need to change if companies are to become a 21st century employer of choice.

“These are the big challenges of the day,” he said.

Technology had a key role to play in creating the connection with the employee, he said. “The war for talent is absolutely on,” he said, highlighting the need to have the best proposition to attract staff.

He said there was also still a disconnect between what people want and what employers are offering and outlined how that needed to change.

"Benefits absolutely do have a central role in connecting you with your employees," he said.

This video was recorded at the REBA Reward Leaders’ Forum 2018 in London on 18 April 2018.
