Webinar recording: How business sustainability goals are changing benefits
Talk of sustainability is on the rise within investor and business leadership levels, but often it is less clear what it means for HR and, in particular, employee benefits strategies. Yet, when fully understood there are many ways in which HR and employee benefits can be used to support a corporate sustainability journey.
This webinar explores why HR, reward and benefits professionals need to consider sustainability as part of their strategy, how their decisions can have hard commercial benefits for their organisations, as well as how a clear sustainability strategy can be used to move the dial on recruitment and retention as well as employee engagement and customer interactions.
Drawing on the recently published REBA Technical Training Guide: Creating a Sustainable Rewards Strategy, the panel discussed the business benefits of sustainability, how to audit what is appropriate for each organisation, ways to communicate the strategy for impact, as well as quick wins and practical ideas they have found useful for employee benefits decisions.
The key issues explored included: understanding what sustainability means as a business strategy; where employers can start when aiming to be seen as a sustainable employer; how sustainability objectives relate to HR strategies and create commercial ROI; how to audit and measure current practices and build a roadmap for future practices; ways to translate the strategy into job roles so it is lived by the organisation; key pointers on becoming a B-Corp in the UK today; what the journey to sustainability means for benefits buying and supply chains.
