Webinar recording: Pay in a high inflation economy

This webinar, run with our strategic partners Personal Group/Innecto, considers how to build and foster an engaged and resilient workforce during a cost-of-living crisis

In this webinar, the panel explore predicted pay trends and which employee benefits are most effective at providing physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing in the current climate, as well as how employers are reshaping and communicating their pay and benefits to build a resilient workforce.

Together they discuss practical recommendations; how to avoid discontent in pay discussions; and how to communicate to engage, inspire and energise different employee groups.

The key themes discussed include: expected pay review trends in 2023; ways to manage the gap when pay increases are below current inflation levels; understanding how cost of living and personal spending is shifting to identify which employee benefits will best support your workforce; guidance on how to communicate pay and benefits to avoid discontent; how to build loyalty, engagement, and employee wellbeing to maintain resilience and productivity.

Chaired by REBA’s director Debi O’Donovan, the panel included:

  • Lee Cortez SHRM-SCP, CDE, LMSW, Global Benefits at Okta & Adjunct Professor at Columbia University
  • Robert Drewell, Client Director, Innecto Reward Consulting
  • Dave Roberts, Head of Benefits & Recognition, Virgin Media O2
