Just Eat's Jane Gibbon on the importance of mental wellbeing for an enhanced employee experience
After a survey last year found that only 31% of Just Eat employees felt they could openly discuss mental health issues, the organisation decided to focus its HR efforts on helping employees "belong".
Gibbon said in her speech at REBA's Innovation Day 2019, that her team is looking at improving employee inclusion, company culture and, in particular, mental health. The company has take a proactive and reactive approach offering employees mental health apps, EAP services, mental first aiders and Mental Health coaches.
"I'm so proud to say that one year later the same survey has shown that 68% now believe Just Eat has an open culture to discuss mental health, that is such a huge success," said Gibbon.
