Invitation-only event exploring the major forces causing employers and insurers to rethink employee private medical and group risk insurances.
On 6 March 2024, REBA hosted its first Future of Workplace Health and Protection Summit. The top class event gathered top employers, industry leaders and stakeholders together to share knowledge and explore the range of factors impacting employer-funded health and risk benefits and how they are affecting
workforce healthcare provision. The carefully curated programme was dedicated to discussing what strategies could be employed to mitigate people and business risk in the current market.
REBA is delighted to have attracted attendees who are at the forefront of employee health and wellbeing, and are instrumental in shaping the future of workplace health and protection both for their own workforce and the future of the sector. Some of the excellent feedback here indicates how valuable the day was:

At REBA we aim to ensure that Reward and Benefits practitioners are aware of what is coming down the line that will impact their wider strategies. Of course you're aware of rising healthcare inflation and the impact this is beginning to have on health & wellbeing benefits design. This invitation-only event will support senior Reward & Benefit professionals with fact-finding and strategy planning for their next steps in this uncertain territory.
Employers can expect to see their insurance costs double within a few years due to high medical inflation globally - the global average for 2023 is expected to be 9.2 percent (up from 7.4 percent in 2022) according to Aon’s 2023 Global Medical Rate Trends Report, while in the UK, employers are being quoted up to 30 percent cost increases for group insurances for 2024.
This means that employers are re-thinking insurances, what they offer and how they offer them. This level of cost change is also impacting the profitability of insurers and health trusts causing them to rethink their offerings, focus harder on preventative services as well as expand wellbeing products. The near future trend is to increase the number of employees being helped earlier and reduce those needing to claim.
The key aim is to provide a stimulating networking, learning and information-sharing opportunity for senior reward and benefits leaders with responsibility for healthcare and insurances in their organisations.
This Summit will bring together HR, Benefits, Health and Risk leaders to examine current challenges and emerging solutions to mitigate rising people risks to business and employee benefits budgets, both for the UK and globally.
Key stakeholders will be personally invited to come together to analyse and discuss the future of workplace health and protection insurances. These stakeholders include:
