Government papers: Good Work
Last summer the government published, Good work: the Taylor review of modern working practices. It considered a range of issues, including the implications of new forms of work, the rise of digital platforms and the impact of new working models on employee and worker rights, responsibilities, freedoms and obligations.
Alongside the government response, four consultations on key areas covered by the review were launched:
- Employment status
- Increasing transparency in the labour market
- Agency workers
- Enforcement of employment rights.
The response also included two pieces of research on the gig economy and the use of pay between assignment contracts for agency workers, including the role of umbrella organisations.
