Capita Workplace Wellness 2019 1

The research finds 79% of employees say they have felt stressed in the last year, with nearly half (47%) now admitting it is ‘normal’ to feel stress and anxiety at work.

Such is the low ebb employees have reached, it finds 43% of employees have sought professional help for a mental health issue, while 45% have actually considered quitting their job because of the stress they regularly suffer.

The report covers physical, mental and financial wellness, and on the latter area, it finds:

  • Nearly a quarter of employees (22%) struggle to make ends meet each month
  • A third (33%) have lost sleep worrying about their finances
  • 19% have to borrow money regularly to meet just their day-to-day living costs
