Video tutorial: Volkswagen Financial Services on evolving your wellbeing programme for engagement

Understanding the changing and diverse needs of your employees is vital to keep evolving your wellbeing programme to increase engagement, according to Dr Chris Tomkins, chief operating officer, Proactive Health at AXA PPP Healthcare.

Speaking at the Employee Wellbeing Congress 2018 he introduced Tiffany Wright, reward and benefits manager at Volkswagen Financial Services, to reveal how her company had implemented its wellbeing strategy through benefits innovation.

She explained how the company had 1,200 employees across four sites but wanted to use wellbeing to better attract staff.

“Historically our wellbeing approach had been more aligned to a traditional, reactive sick bay approach providing help and assistance at the point it was needed,” she said.

In 2013 the company redesigned its head office with its colleagues and health and wellbeing in mind. The HQ and wellbeing centre, in partnership with AXA PPP Healthcare, opened in 2015.

She said the programme had evolved over the past three years and continues to do so. “The insights gathered through the programme are all used to help shape future initiatives,” she said.

This video was recorded at the Employee Wellbeing Congress 2018, held in London on 5 July.
