Financial return on EAPs 2022: The pandemic effect 1

The findings demonstrate the effect of the pandemic on usage levels and highlights what an important resource this benefit can be.

Key findings

  • Usage levels between October 2020 and October 2021 rose to 11.4% (up from a previous average of 10.4%).
  • As a consequence of higher usage, employers are seeing a higher Return on Investment (ROI) from their EAP. For every £1.00 spent on an EAP in the UK, employers have seen an average ROI of £8.00. This compares with a previous average of £7.27.
  • The research argues that higher EAP usage is here to stay, for the foreseeable future. This is due to the gradual fall-out from disrupted and changing lives, stemming from uncertainty.
